Contemporary Japanese restaurant Aqua Kyoto has partnered with Tanqueray No. TEN and cult florists Rebel Rebel to create the beautiful Hanging Gardens of Kyoto Terrace running from 25th August until the end of September. Making the most of the final days of summer and transitioning the space into autumn, the installation takes inspiration from traditional Japanese gardens and the botanicals of Tanqueray No. TEN, signalling the start of a season celebrating Japanese culture at Aqua Kyoto.
The partnership between Rebel Rebel and Tanqueray No. TEN is the first within the Perfect Ten series, a campaign celebrating the craftsmen behind some of the UK’s most innovative and leading luxury brands and their constant strive for perfection. An exclusive menu of seven special Tanqueray No. TEN and Cîroc cocktails will mirror the botanical elements of the garden, whilst Aqua Kyoto’s Head Chef Paul Greening will continue the celebration of Japanese culture with a seasonal menu for the restaurant in September.
Tanqueray No. TEN Brand Ambassador Tim Homewood has worked with Aqua KyotoBars Manager Nico Peratinos to develop an exclusive cocktail menu. The recurrent theme throughout the menu is the use of unique botanical inspired flavours as the base for the drinks.
Umeshu Negroni – a barrel-aged Negroni infused with bamboo leaves combines Tanqueray No.Ten with plum sake, Aperol, absinthe and cherry wine. The result is a bitter-sweet taste to this classic apertif.
Shiso Leaves – reminiscent of fresh-cut grass, with an earthy, minty finish, it mixes two shiso leaves with Tanqueray No. TEN, pear sake, passion fruit, lime and matcha green tea syrup.
Orchid Hinode – provides a fruity option, combining Tanqueray No. TEN, rhubarb, Aperol, Maraschino, pink grapefruit and orange bitters, it is zesty, tart and thirst-quenching.
The Hanging Gardens of Aqua Kyoto are open 7 days a week, with lunch served 12-3pm, and as a bar all day until close, weather permitting.
